Our Story
Welcome To The Oven Mitt!
I am a lakeshore local who has had a love for baking and pastry arts all of my life. The first 12 years of my professional career, I served the community working as a paramedic in Holland, Michigan. This was a very rewarding career and helped shape me into who I am today. Finding a balance between my medical profession and love for the kitchen, I made customized cakes and sweets out of my home. In 2014, I decided to further pursue my passion for baking by obtaining a degree in Pastry Arts from The Culinary Institute of Michigan. Only a few short months after graduation, I decided to make my lifelong dream come true by opening my own bakery. On February 10, 2017, The Oven Mitt opened its doors to the public.
The Oven Mitt is located inside Baker Lofts in Holland, Michigan. We specialize in custom cakes, cookies and other baked goods. You can visit our storefront to select from a variety of fresh baked goods or contact us to place a custom order. At The Oven Mitt, all of our baked goods are homemade with only the freshest ingredients. We take pride in creating delicious works of art for any occasion guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Cake Menus
The Oven Mitt is a full service bakery that provides a wide variety of cakes, cookies, and other sweets. We have 3 different menus to guide customers through the ordering process:
Basic Cake Menu:
Cakes come in a variety of shapes, sizes and flavors. Basic cakes are single tier and serve 50 or less people and include basic cake flavors and limited decor. Border, sprinkles, colored icing and writing are included. Additional decoration or specialty flavors increase cost.
Wedding & Specialty Cakes:
For cakes serving more than 50 people, tiered cakes, or themed cakes, refer to our Wedding & Specialty Cake menu.
Sugar Cookies:
Personalized and hand decorated for any occasion. Our sugar cookies are thick, soft, and frosted with royal icing.
Other Desserts:
This menu covers the costs for cookies, brownies, fruit tarts, macarons, and other dessert bars.
